Harry "Red" Garrett

November 27, 1924 — October 7, 2009

Harry N. Garrett, 84, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 7, 2009.

Mr. Garrett was born on November 27, 1924 in Shiloh, Ohio. A World War II veteran, he served with pride and honor in the U. S. Army's 8th Infantry, 13th Regiment, 121st Division. He subsequently worked at Robins Air Force Base as a Warehouse Foreman, a position from which he retired in 1979 after thirty-six years of faithful service. An avid antique collector, he also enjoyed woodworking and a good cigar. He was a member of the Garrett Reist American Legion Post 503 in Shiloh, Ohio, and of the Warner Robins Moose Club. Warner Robins First Methodist Church was his church home. His parents, Harry A. Garrett and Roxana Graver Garrett, brothers, Francis and Alvin Garrett, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of fifty-nine years, Lois Silliman Garrett, Warner Robins; daughters, Linda Ross (Stephen), Warner Robins, Luanne Holle (Roy Thornton), Macon; son, Robert N. Garrett (Deborah), Lizella; daughters, Lori Roberts (Larry Lineberger), Lizella, and Rita Garrett Davenport (Tim), Macon; grandchildren, Kenny Ivester, Michael Ross, Gary Holle, Lois Holle; Lisa Holle, Bryan Ross, Leslee Holle, Shelley Mitchell, all of Warner Robins, Lacey Byrd, Guam, U.S.A., Neal Garrett, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, and Kelly Lineberger, Lizella; nineteen great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Jean Rish, Shelby, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral, services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Dr. Jimmy Asbell officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 205 N. Davis Drive, Warner Robins GA 31093.
