Helen B. Layfield

Helen Louise Brown Layfield, 77, entered into rest on Saturday, September 18, 2010.

Mrs. Layfield was born on September 25, 1932 in Sandersville, Georgia, and had lived in Warner Robins since 1954. She retired from Robins Air Force Base where she worked as a sheet metal mechanic. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, gardening and reading. Avondale Baptist Church was her church home. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Albert Lee Layfield, and parents, Hollifield Brown and Jesse Brown.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children Albert Wayne Layfield, Dudley, Delores L. Johnson, Byron, Walter Keith Layfield, Warner Robins, Richard Neil Layfield, Warner Robins, and Vance Edward Layfield, Byron; siblings, Dewey Brown, Cochran, and Doris Martin, Haddock; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Avondale Baptist Church, Pastor Marty Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery.
