Helen Claire Hunter Jenkins, 89, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
Mrs. Jenkins was born on October 30, 1924 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Bonaire United Methodist Church where she was actively involved with the Fan Alice Sunday School class, as well as the Wilelife Bunch.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Benion Felton Jenkins, as well as her parents, Frank and Abby Hunter; brother, Gene Hunter; and sisters, Hazel Tucker, Melba Bratton, Marjorie Lake and Louise Deese.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by four sons, Charles Jenkins (Dee) of Roberta, Georgia, John David Jenkins (Barbara) of Jacksonville, Florida, James Jenkins (Lisa) of Griffin, Georgia and Michael Jenkins (Pam) of Bonaire, Georgia; four daughters, Linda McQuaig (Donnie) of Buford, Georgia, Esther Williamson (Thomas) of Bonaire, Georgia, Mary Ruth Giddens (Jay) of Milledgeville, Georgia and Joy Hicks (Stewart) of Meansville, Georgia; twenty-six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mabel Bowen of McDonough, Georgia and Ann Herndon of Perry, Georgia.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church Centerville with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to the Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to the charity or ministry of your choice.
