Helen O'Mara, 84, entered into eternal life on Saturday, February 28, 2009.
Mrs. O'Mara was born in New York City on July 3, 1924. A resident of Woodstock since 2000, she had lived in Byron the previous thirteen years and had been an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother whose life centered on faith and family. She enjoyed sewing and silk embroidery. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter Siedlecki and Mary Anne Krukar Siedlecki, and by her son, Edward "Buz" O'Mara.
She will forever live in the hearts of her husband, Ed O'Mara, with whom she would have celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary on March 4, 2009; sister, Pauline Martin, Flemington, New Jersey; daughters, Sharon Farmer (Bill), Woodstock; Lee Ann Herbert (William), Austell, and Bonnie O'Mara (Robert), Washington state; daughter-in-law, Cindy O'Mara, Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Janet Figlmiller (Richard), Eau Claire, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery, Monsignor Fred Nijem officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the donor's charity of choice.
