Henry Allen Burroughs, Sr., 84, entered into rest on Sunday, November 2, 2008.
Henry was born on May 15, 1924, in Comer, Georgia. A World War II veteran, he served with pride and honor in the United State Air Force; he participated in the Korean Conflict and retired after twenty-two years of service. Subsequent to his military career, he worked at Air Force Base Fire Department for twenty years. A resident of Warner Robins for the past thirty-one years, he called Shirley Hills Baptist Church his church home and was a member of Alice Upshaw and Vance Watson's Sunday School Class. His favorite pastime was to hunt and fish with his grandchildren. His parents, Charlie Newton Burroughs and Tillie Nash Burroughs, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife Alice Faye Burroughs; children, Shelia Wallace, Hawkinsville, Sherry Burroughs, Macon, and Henry Allen Burroughs, Jr., and wife Jo, Brooklet, Georgia; brother, Jack Burroughs, Colbert, Georgia; grandchildren, Ryan Burroughs and Taylor Burroughs.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Shirley Hills Baptist Church, Reverend Andy Cook and Reverend Freddie Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions can be made to the Youth or Children's Ministry at Shirley Hills Baptist Church, 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
