Henry Howe "Hank" Rathbun Iii

Henry "Hank" Rathbun III, the son of Henry Howe Rathbun, Jr. and his wife, Helen Boehm Rathbun, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was 74 years old.

A native of Utica, New York, Hank was born on August 8, 1942 and raised in Oriskany Falls, New York, Milton, Massachusetts, and Claremont, New Hampshire. He graduated with the Class of 1960 Stevens High School in Claremont, New Hampshire and enlisted in the United States Air Force following graduation. Mr. Rathbun proudly served his country in the military for eight years and later graduated from Johnson and Wales College in Providence, Rhode Island with the Class of 1978. He was a restaurant manager, insurance agent, and business man. Hank was also a die-hard New York Yankees' fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles M. Rathbun.

Hank's memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Margie Adorno (Christopher) of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Marlene Whalen of Berry, Kentucky, Eric Rathbun (Lynn) of Norway, Maine, and Christian Rathbun (Elisabeth Radford) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Matthew, Allison and Elizabeth Adorno, all of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Christine Adorno of Spokane, Washington and Ryan Whalen of Berry, Kentucky; great-granddaughter, Julia LeClair; brother, Robert B. Rathbun of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Faye Rathbun of Wilson, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 15th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 19th in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Kirkland, New York with the Rev. Christopher Adorno officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Mr. Rathbun to the Wounded Warrior Project Foundation, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
