A courageous Vietnam War veteran, Herman Thomas Ingram, entered into rest on the morning on Saturday, November 13, 2021. He was two days away from 72 years old.
The son of the late T.I. and Lillian Benson Ingram, Herman was born on November 15, 1949, in Cordele, Georgia. He grew up in Perry, Georgia, and graduated from Perry High School in 1967. After his time in United States Army, Herman worked for Crown Cork and Seal until his retirement.
In his spare time, Herman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He was also a fan of the Atlanta Braves and was glad to see them win the World Series this year. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. He especially enjoyed watching them play sports.
His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 47 years, Virginia Mims Ingram; daughter, Kim Ingram Blackwell (Bruce) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Brody and Holden Blackwell; siblings, Connie Hall and JoAnn Leonard (Tom), all of Augusta; brother-in-law, James Mims (Kayleen) of Kathleen; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation with Herman’s family will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, the graveside memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
