Hiền Phạm, Sr.

February 4, 1953 — December 24, 2021

Hiền Phạm, Sr., passed into his eternal rest on the afternoon of Friday, December 24, 2021, at the age of 68.

Born on February 4, 1953 in Hue, Vietnam, Hiền came to America in April of 1975 as a Vietnamese refugee. He began working with Pactiv from where he retired with 40 years as a graphic artist. Hiền was without a doubt creative in many capacities, some of which consisted of being an accomplished artist/sculptor and a master gardener. In his beautiful garden were koi ponds. Hiền loved fishing, bonsai trees, orchids and many other flowers over the years, as well. Furthermore, he was a longtime member of the Koi Club, Bonsai Club, Orchid Club and Master Gardener Club. It was evident that Hiền loved life, as he never sat still and was always busy!

Aside from applying his creative mind and soul to his career and garden, Hiền was the absolute heart and soul of his family. He deeply loved his children, grandchildren and large family. He would drop whatever he might be doing to give them his undivided attention. Hiền was very funny, easy going, and was someone to look up to within his family, but also within the community; he was a friend to everyone.

Hiền is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Becky Jane Phạm and children, Hien Phạm, Jr. (Sarah) and Lemai Phạm Taylor (John) all of GA; grandchildren, Zoe Phạm, Kaleb Collins, Karah Gibbs, Jackson Phạm, William Taylor and Lydia Taylor; sisters, Thị Tín Phạm, Thị Lành Phạm, Thị Kim Đính Phạm and Thị Ngọc Liên Phạm; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family, including Lloyd Parsons and his family and Arlin and Jimmie Lee Dowd and their family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phước Khoa Phạm and Thị Thông Lê, in Vietnam
