Hiram Larkin "H.L." Brown, Jr.

H.L. Brown, Jr. 87, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 11, 2016.

H.L. was born on July 20, 1928 in Lagrange, Georgia to the late Hiram, Sr. and Lola Gray Brown. Shortly after he was born his family moved to Five Points, Alabama where he grew up and graduated from Five Points High School. H.L. then moved to Macon working at Cornell Young Concrete Company for a few years. In 1956 he relocated to Warner Robins where he began working for the Houston County Board of Education as the Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 1989. During his time with the Board of Education, he maintained the scoreboards and kept the score during the Warner Robins and Northside High School's football games at McConnell Talbert Stadium. H.L. was a member of Second Baptist Church where he sang in the quartet, then for many years a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He was most recently a member of Second Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, beloved wife, Mary Grace Redmond, and siblings, Reverend Vernon Brown and Allene Dunn, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Ken Brown (Lee) of Perry; Donna Brown and Janie Sharpston (Andrew) all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Paige Dalton, Blair Brown, Chad Jackson, Shawn Jackson; great-grandchildren, Garrett Jackson, Austin Jackson, Brooks Brown; and siblings, Lender Readen of Lanett, Alabama and Leonard Brown of Five Points, Alabama.

Visitation with H.L.'s family will be Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, H.L. will be laid to rest next to his late wife, Mary Grace Brown in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of H.L. Brown to Heart of Georgia Hospice 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Ga 31088 or the Gideons International P.O. Box 537, Warner Robins, Ga 31099.
