Howard G. "Bud" Davenport, 72, entered into rest on Sunday, July 25, 2010.
Mr. Davenport was born on January 25, 1938, in Springfield, Illinois. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-seven years, participated in the Vietnam Conflict, and retired as Senior Master Sergeant. He later worked for defense support contractors at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio and Robins Air Force Base. His parents, Glen Davenport and Frances Lee Davenport; sister, Gwen Finn White; and brother, David Davenport, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of fourteen years, Norma Konstenius Ahola Davenport; sons, John Davenport (Donna), San Antonio, Texas, and David Davenport, Hattiesburg, Mississippi; step-daughters, Becky Gibbs (Johnny), Bonaire, and Bobbi Etheridge (Eric), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Brendan and Jayden Davenport, San Antonio, Texas, Ali Ikner, Bonaire, Alyssa and Peyton Etheridge, both of Warner Robins; brother, Bob Davenport (Marilyn), Auburn, Illinois; great aunts, Gloria McLean, Palm Desert, California, Liberty Sakryd, Melbourne, Florida, and Betty Kinsey, Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 29, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the Museum of Aviation, P.O. Box 2469, Warner Robins GA 31099.
