Ivy Nell Stevenson Russell

Ivy Nell Stevenson Russell was born on March 26, 1950 to Oscar Stevenson and Mildred Pollard Stevenson.

She received Christ at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church in Caldwell, TX and continued her faith and trust in God at the First United Christian Church in Hawkinsville, GA.

Ivy Nell owned and operated Ivy’s International Beauty Shop for over 20 years. Ivy loved people, always trying to help somebody. She also loved to shop and decorate houses, anybody’s house.

Ivy Nell married Joseph L. Russell on October 13, 1990. They were happily married for over 30 years.

On September 30, 2021, Ivy Nell departed this life to be with God. She leaves to cherish in loving memories her husband, Joseph L. Russell of Hawkinsville, GA; three daughters, Konya (Jules) Gallien of Long Beach, MS, Skyler Whitt of Hawkinsville, GA, and Deidra Whitt of Atlanta, GA; two stepdaughters, Falecia Goldsby (Darrell) of Birmingham, AL and Keyona Morgan (Glenn) of Birmingham, AL; sister, Lois Hunter (Douglas) of Clovis, NM, brother, Lee B. Stevenson of Clovis, NM; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Ivy Nell was preceded in death by her son, James H. Brown, Jr.; father, Oscar Stevenson; mother, Mildred Shaw; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Georgia Mae; and two brothers, George and Curtis Stevenson.

Ivy Nell’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Perry Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
