Jack Fried

Jack Fried, 76, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

Mr. Fried was born on September 26, 1932 in Vienna, Austria. A retired veteran who proudly participated in the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Army. Subsequent to his military career, he worked in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the U.S. Department of Commerce as an Electronics Technician. A member of the VFW, he loved traveling and studying history. His wife, Carol Nelson Fried; son, Michael Fried; daughter, Lara Fried; and parents, Max Fried and Berta Kaphan Fried, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter Jacqueline Smith, Warner Robins; brother, Kurt Fried, Bluffton, South Carolina; sister, Norma Gordon, New York, New York; grandchildren, Rebekah Smith, Elizabeth Smith and Zachary Blake; and brother-in-law, Leslie Nelson, Willmar, Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the VFW Post 6605, 1011 Corder Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
