Jack Wilbourne, 87, reunited with his beloved wife, Jackie Wilbourne, in Heaven, on the evening of Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was born in Pickensville, Alabama, on September 25, 1933, the son of the late Willet and Trannie Mae Wilbourne. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was later successful in a long career in Civil Service. He worked as a civil servant in Mobile, Alabama for several years before transferring to Robins Air Force Base, from where he retired. An avid scuba diver, Jack was one of the first members of the Robins Aquanauts and enjoyed being a member of the Officers’ Club on Base. In addition, he was an amateur radio operator and loved to travel, especially in his RV.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Jeff Wilbourne (Camille), Terry Wilbourne (Sherrie) of Byron and Jeanie Coalson of Warner Robins; stepson, Mark Roberts (Dawn) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and a number of adoring great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 10, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with a memorial gathering one hour prior to the service. Reverend Fred McCoy will officiate.
For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
