Jackie D. "Jack" Walker

On the morning of Wednesday, September 9, 2015, Jackie Walker, age 77, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jackie was born on September 16, 1937 in Buford, Georgia to the late Elmo and Ruby Walker. He moved to Warner Robins at an early age and was a self-described "hometown boy." Jackie loved to play the game of football and played with the Warner Robins Recreation Department's 'Green Devils' coached by Larry Shanks. One of the original members of the Warner Robins Demons, he graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1955. Jackie went on to play football for Middle Georgia College where he made the All-American Honorable Mention.

After a lengthy career in the auto business, he retired to stay home with his family and friends. Jackie also enjoyed being a member of the executive committee of the Northside High School Booster Club. He made sure to attend all of the WRHS class reunions attending his 60th one this year.

Jackie's brother, Harrell Walker; and sisters-in-law, Ricki and Sue Walker all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy J. Walker of Warner Robins; children, Jimmy Walker (Tammy) of Perry, Steve Walker of Kathleen, and Joann Walker of Haddock; grandchildren, Leanne, Kayla, and Chad Walker; brother, Eddie Walker of Kathleen; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Mr. Walker will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
