James A. ''Jim Bob" Gibbs, Jr.

James A. ''Jim Bob'' Gibbs, Jr., 61, entered into rest on Saturday, February 15, 2014.

Jim Bob was born on March 31, 1952 in Macon, Georgia and was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired self-employed general contractor. Jim Bob loved cruising and cherished time spent with his family. He never met a stranger and was a selfless man who would do anything for anyone. His parents, James Alton Gibbs, Sr. and Mary Thomas Gibbs; sister, Diane Bryant; and brother, Pete Gibbs, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Charlotte Taylor of Talladega, Alabama, Chris Gibbs of Covington, Georgia and Rachel Gibbs of Monroe, Georgia; sisters, Brenda Gibbs Ruark of Perry, Georgia and Linda Gibbs Malcom of Roberta, Georgia; loving best friend, Carolyn Benningfield of Warner Robins, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to the Memorial Fund of James A. "Jim Bob" Gibbs, Jr.
