James Calvin Mullis

December 28, 1931 — February 26, 2009

James Calvin Mullis, 77, entered into rest on Thursday, February 26, 2009.

Mr. Mullis was born on December 28, 1931 in Eastman. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army and participated in the Korean Conflict. He later worked as a Civil Engineer at Robins Air Force Bases and retired from civil service. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Georgia Sheriffs' Association Boys Ranch. His parents, Theo Milton Mullis and Lizzie Mae Whitman Mullis, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Mary Ruth Massey Mullis; daughters, Sallie Diane Fitts, Kathleen, and Glynda Gean Jones, Macon; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, February 27, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Donald Whitman officiating. Entombment will follow at Parkway Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Georgia Sheriffs' Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 100, Hahira GA 31632 or to the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Home, P.O. Box 1000, Stockbridge GA 302811.
