James Donald “Jim” Blankenship

James Donald “Jim” Blankenship, age 70, entered into rest on February 6, 2025.

Born in Montgomery, Jim was the beloved son of the late Donald and Lillian Carper Blankenship. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Jim worked at Price Chopper for 17 years and as a truck driver for R&S Industrial Supply, where he dedicated many years.

Jim was a proud member of the American Legion and in his spare time, he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and family. He was talented at playing pool, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and fishing, and created many lasting memories.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Baker.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 29 years, Irene B. Blankenship of Warner Robins; children, Jaime Prendengast (Mark), Christopher Blankenship, Deanna Cooper (Ken), and Neil Carmody (Dawn); seven grandchildren, Star E. Richardson, Haylie Prendengast, Bradley Prendengast, Avery Blankenship, Mysha Grandshaw, Xavier Cooper, William Baldwin; brother, Ronald Blankenship.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, James Donald “Jim” Blankenship will be laid to rest privately.
