James E. Hattaway, 81, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2007.
Mr. Hattaway was born on May 10, 1926 in Walden, Georgia. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins. Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture where he worked in Inspection Services. He and his wife, Maxine, are the owners of Houston Bonding Company. His wise counsel touched the lives of many. Jim always had a positive outlook and saw the best in everyone he met. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family was the most important thing in his life. He taught them the value of love, honesty, forgiveness, charity, and to always do the right thing. He was a loving, honest, and ethical man of his word. His parents, Frank and Avie Hattaway, and brothers, John, Robert and Albert Hattaway, all preceded him in death.
He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of sixty two years, Maxine Mason Hattaway, Warner Robins; his loving children, James E. Hattaway, Jr. (Judy), FL; Melissa Ann Camp, Centerville; Karen H. Callahan (Tim), Centerville; Steven F. Hattaway (Joann), TX; Timothy L. Hattaway (Jennifer), Kathleen; brothers, Arthur Hattaway (Hilda), Ft. Valley; Claude P. Hattaway, Centerville; sisters, Ruth Ford, Macon; Doris Lacey, Warner Robins; Margaret Rouse, Centerville; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2007 at First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins with entombment in Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
