James "Gene" Hatfield, 89, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
Mr. Hatfield was born on December 18, 1921 in Rembert, South Carolina. With pride and honor he served in the United States Army during World War II, he later went to work at Robins Air Force Base from 1953 until 1986 as an Aircraft Technical Services Specialist. Very active in many organizations; the American Legion, Moose Lodge #1688, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Scottish Rite; he loved to fish and enjoyed playing the harmonica. His parents, Harold Clifford Hatfield and Ruby Roberson Hatfield and four siblings preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his faithful and loving wife of sixty nine years, Sadie Aileen Graham Hatfield, Warner Robins; children and their spouses, Eugene A." Pete" and Faye Hatfield, Warner Robins; Harold "Edward" and Tracy Hatfield, Augusta; James "Jim" and Janine Hatfield, Union, South Carolina; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, February 25, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Missy Blumenthal officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
