James McLemore, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 11, 2016.
Born in Wilcox County, Georgia, James was a son of the late Marion J. McLemore and Robbie Sue McLemore Josey. He was a machinist and welder by trade for 60 years and for 25 of those years, he was the shop manager of Greene Machine and Manufacturing, Inc. in Macon and worked at C&T Machine Shop in Byron during his "retirement years."
James was always a dedicated father who enjoyed coaching his children in baseball as they grew up. He loved to fish and was also a devoted member of Avondale Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert McLemore and Marion McLemore; and his sister, Judy Lindsey.
He leaves his memory behind with his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra D. McLemore of Perry; children, James Rory McLemore (Kathy) of Byron, Randall H. McLemore (Connie) and Dennis W. McLemore (Marian), both of Perry, and Tammy M. Holland (Barry) of Hawkinsville; fifteen grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Bivins of Augusta; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, a private committal will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens where James will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of James to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
