James Henry Madison, proud grandson of Pearl Stephens, passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was 79 years old.
James was born in Warner Robins, Georgia on March 2, 1941, the eldest son of the late Ashley and Emma Stephens Madison. He lived in California for a few years before moving back to his hometown of Warner Robins in 1980. James then built Madison Drywall Construction from the ground up; it was the largest in the middle Georgia area for over 20 years. From the time he was young, he held a close relationship with the Lord and was called to be ordained as a minister. Union Grove Missionary Baptist was his church home.
The patriarch of his family, James was an avid family man, wonderful father and grandfather. He traveled the world with Barbara, the love of his life, and together, they got to see 90 countries in this world. James was always fun to be with, no matter what activity he was participating in. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially loved taking friends and family out with him. Cooking the fish he caught for others brought him great joy! James was also an avid sports fan, guaranteed to always have a game on his T.V. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brennan Madison; and siblings, Joe Richardson and Laverne Ringwood.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Madison; children, James Anthony Madison, Timber Cox (Robert) and James Marcus Parsons (Yonder); grandchildren, Marcus, Amari, Lyric, Nathan and Travis; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Hoyt; siblings, Ashley Madison, Jr., Barnett Anderson, Maggie Pearl Cole, Shirley Madison, Clara Madison, Maranda Madison and Joseph Madison; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. James will be laid to rest with a graveside funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in Stephens Family Cemetery in Warner Robins.
