U.S. Army Veteran and avid fisherman, James Jackson Cook, left us on the morning of Monday, February 27, 2023, at the age of 88. He was born on September 22, 1934 to the late Jessie Hicks Cook and Henrietta Camp Cook, and was the beloved husband of the late Sara Ann Cook.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army before going to work for his uncle at Camp Chevrolet for a short time. He went on to begin a successful career at Coca-Cola where he retired. Even with his lengthy career, he never missed his daughters’ or grandchildren’s sporting events and always made time for fishing and cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs!
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Suzie D. Knowles (John) of Byron and Vicki Conlon (Michael) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Bradley Harvey (Meghann), Tyler Harvey, Zachary Conlon, Amber Wilson (Jacob) and Zane Conlon; great-grandchildren, Kasen, Tylie, Beau, Riley, Ava, Rae Rae, Ford and Waylon; and sister, Barbara Edwards of Anderson, SC.
Visitation with Jack’s family will take place on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Loafman officiating. Jack will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery after the service.
