Our beloved brother Jim stepped from his earthly home into his heavenly home on Friday, December 29, 2023. He was a recent resident of Fort Valley Rehab in Fort Valley, Georgia.
Jim was born July 20, 1958, in Landstuhl, Germany to the military family of the late James and Julia Horne. He was a 1976 graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins, Georgia; a 1978 graduate of Macon Junior College in Macon, Georgia and also attended the University of Georgia. Jim worked in retail his entire working life, retiring as Assistant Manager of Big Lots. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, his maternal grandparents, Will and Laura Horne and his paternal grandparents, Charleton and Addie Horne.
Jim was a believer and accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior and was baptized on May 9, 1972. Although never married, he was a devoted and loving son, brother, and uncle. Jim was totally devoted to his three sisters; their families and they were devoted to their favorite brother.
His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted sisters, Elaine Tillman (Tracy) of Bonaire, Georgia, Lorraine Reagin (Rick) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Judie McCoy (Glenn) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his niece, Ashley Gambill (Paul) of Augusta, Georgia; nephews, Adam Tillman, Drew Tillman, both of Bonaire, Georgia, Ryan Tillman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kyle Reagin, Blake Reagin, both of Warner Robins, Georgia, Aaron (Téa) McCoy, Eric McCoy, both of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and one great nephew Killian Gambill of Augusta, Georgia
Visitation with Jim’s family will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with the funeral service celebrating his life following in the chapel. After the service, Jim will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
