Mr. James McCool, 74, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007.
Mr. McCool was born on September 15, 1932 in Reform, Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Centerville. Mr. McCool was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam era and the Korean conflict. He was a Quality Assurance Specialist employed by Duke Energy Company. His son, David McCool, parents, Gerlie Andrew and Alice Stewart McCool, and brother, Frank McCool, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Vergie Davis McCool, Kathleen; children, Jean Ridley (Bobby), Aiken, SC; Wade McCool, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Austin, and Alyssah Ridley, Matthew and Skyler McCool, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Blockhouse Baptist Church Cemetery located on Hwy 117, Telfair County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Centerville 108 E. Church Street Centerville, GA 31028 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place
