James Keith Settles, Jr.

Warner Robins – James Keith “J.K.” Settles, Jr, 81, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2004 at the Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Centerville with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering through First Baptist Church Centerville 108 Church St., Centerville, GA 31028 or the Building Fund of Covenant Academy 4652 Ayers Rd. Macon GA 31210 where grandchildren, Kenneth and Nan were students.

Mr. Settles was born in Cuthbert, GA to the late James K. Settles, Sr. and Mattie Lou Settles. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. Later he retired from civil service contract management at Robins AFB. He was also employed for nine years as a loan officer with Robins Federal Credit Union and also worked as an associate of McCullough Funeral Home since 1968. As an active member of First Baptist Church of Centerville, he served as a Deacon, Finance Committee Chairman, Sunday School Teacher, and on many pastor search committees. He volunteered for the Warner Robins Little League and Warner Robins Baseball for Youth.

Survivors include his wife, Rubye P. Settles, Warner Robins; son, Jim (J.K.) Settles (Phebe), Macon; daughter, Carol Woodham (Pete), Cumming; sister, Edna Jackson, Cuthbert; brother, Frank A. Settles, Leesburg; grandchildren, Nan Pownall, Kenneth Settles, Christi Woodham, Chuck Woodham, Paul Woodham; great-grandchildren, Chandler Woodham, Clayton Woodham.
