James Leonard Stewart, Sr.

James Leonard Stewart, Sr., 91, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2004 in his home. Visitation will be Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11A.M., Monday, February 9, at Second Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 Sandy Run Road, Warner Robins, GA, 31088 or Hospice of Houston County, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

Mr. Stewart was born in Monroe County, GA. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and Upper Room Sunday School class. Mr. Stewart retired from Robins AFB. He was also a 32nd degree Mason of Masonic Tyrian Lodge F&AM #111, Warner Robins, GA, where he was recognized for 50 years of membership. Mr. Stewart was a member of Scottish Rite and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Preceding him in death were his son, James ''Jimmy'' L. Stewart, Jr.; his parents, James Franklin Stewart and Pearl Burk Stewart; sisters, Alma Daniel, Jewel Lunsford, Nettie Bell Byars; brothers, Milner Stewart and Irving Stewart.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Ruth Stewart, Warner Robins; daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Miller, Dublin; Janice (Larry) Varnadoe, Kathleen; son, Charles P. (Gayle) Stewart, Warner Robins; daughter-in-law, Barbara Stewart, Kathleen; sister, Mildred Childs, Forsyth; grandchildren Mark Stewart, Warner Robins; Darin Stewart, Suwannee; Bryan Stewart, Kathleen; Denise James, Niceville, FL; Joy Moneypenny, Warner Robins; Paul Varnadoe, Athens; Brett Varnadoe, Kathleen; four step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Rusty Boy Stewart, his faithful Jack Russell Terrier.
