James M Simmons

James M Simmons, 80, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007.

Mr. Simmons was born on March 28, 1927 in Sampson, Alabama. He was a member of Bible Baptist Temple. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from the U. S. Navy. He was also a retired accountant with Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Simmons, having resided in the Athens area and only recently moved to the Augusta area, was a long time resident of Warner Robins. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simmons, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Simmons, Warner Robins; daughters, Jackie Alicea (Michael), Augusta and Jean Mullis (Mitch), Jefferson; son, JimmY Simmons, Jr. (Sharon), Alabama; grandchildren, Kendra Baxley, Laura and Scott Wilkerson, Matthew, Michal, and Macy Mullis, Callie Hollaway, and Luke and Layla Simmons; great-grandchild, Taylor Baxley; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2007 at Bible Baptist Temple with interment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be given to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Attn: Al Williams, Voluntary Services, 1826 Veteran’s Blvd, Dublin, GA 31021.
