James 'Pop' Clayton Caven

James C. Caven, 86, entered into rest on Sunday, April 29, 2012.

Mr. Caven was born on May 6, 1925 in Barre, Vermont. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in the 162nd Infanty Division during World War II. James retired from Robins Air Force Base after twenty five years of employment where he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, golfing, and woodworking. His beloved wife, Dorothy Ricketson Caven; parents, Grover Cleveland Caven and Ivis George Caven; sister, Gracelyn Martin, and sister in law, Eula Giddens, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Raymond Caven (Teresa). Diana C. Reynolds, Joanne C. Amos (Tim), Donna C. Ellis (Dennis), all of Warner Robins, Georgia; Vicki Adams (Steve), The Rock, Georgia; sisters in law, Nellie Mae Soles, Woodbine, Georgia, Wilma McLeod (Jesse), Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Mark Lewis (Cheryl), Tara Amos Roberts (Danny), Laura Amos Bennet (Andrew), Sean M. Mains, Karissa Johnson, Shea Caven, Kyle Mains, Jesse Ellis, Robyn Salter (Tommy), David Shepherd, Michael Dunn, Melissa Tanner (Tyron), Jade Dowdy (Trenton), Alycia Ellis, Christopher Caven (Jasmine), Tyler Reynolds; twenty two great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
