James Q. "Sandy" Sanders

James Q. “Sandy” Sanders, 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on March 11, 2005 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be held 3:00 PM at Colbert City Cemetery in Colbert, Georgia. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2005 from 7:30 PM until 9 PM at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanders was born in Hull, Georgia. He retired from Robins Air Force Base as an Electronic Mechanic. Sandy was also inducted to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. His parents, Robert and Ora Sanders; brother, Gilbert Sanders; sister, Cleo Sanders preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Sanders, Macon, Georgia; sons, James Sanders, New Orleans, Louisiana; Spencer Sanders, Macon, Georgia; Allen Sanders, Houston, Texas; daughters, Shelia Owens, Winterville, Georgia; Sandra Elizabeth Paulk, Ellaville, Georgia; Lee McBryde, Lizella, Georgia; brothers, Robert Sanders, Winterville, Georgia; Thomas Sanders, Brunswick, Georgia; Neil Sanders, Winterville, Georgia; sisters, Hoil Christain, Athens, Georgia; Bonnie Huggins, Atlanta, Georgia; eighteen grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
