James R. Dollar

James R. Dollar, 81, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2005. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Dollar was born August 3, 1924 in Harelson County, rural northwest Georgia. He graduated from Buchannan High School and soon joined the United States Navy. He proudly served as a Signal Man during World War II in both the Atlantic and the Pacific Campaigns. While in the service he married wife, Aileen Roberts Dollar. Upon Discharge from the Navy he began working at Robins Air Force Base as an Equipment Specialist, retiring in 1980. While in the Warner Robins area he coached Little League baseball and was a Cub Scout Den Leader. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with his sons and friends. He also enjoyed his weekly golf outings with his area buddies. Mr. Dollar was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. His parents, Emmitt and Thelma Dollar, and brother, Alton Dollar preceded him in death.

Survivors include, loving and devoted wife, Aileen Dollar, Warner Robins, Georgia; sons, Philip Dollar (Betty), Deland, Florida; David Dollar (Myrtle), Kathleen, Georgia; granddaughter, Kristi Rigdon (Todd), Warner Robins, Georgia; brothers, Ray Dollar, Cedartown, Georgia; Marlin Dollar, Houston, Texas; and sister, Betty Mills, Douglasville, Georgia.
