James Raymond Hoffman passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. He just celebrated his 86th birthday.
The son of the late Lee Hoffman and Dorothy Hoffman. James was born on June 12, 1936, in Lombard, Illinois. After high school graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army and served as a Specialist, Grade E4. James went on to do pipefitting in various states, and owned and operated XYZ Plumbing while living in Texas. He enjoyed tinkering in his shed, watching movies with Jeanie, driving in the country and spoiling his dog, “Cody.”
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Hoffman and Larry Hoffman; and grandson, Alex Hoffman.
His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 47 years, Carrie Jeanette “Jeanie” Hoffman of Georgia; children, Lee Ann Wernli (Mark) of Texas; Greg (Sandy) Hoffman; Holly Hoffman; and Tom (Becky) Hoffman all of Illinois; grandchildren Tyler, Colby, and Charley Wernli; and Allison and Samantha Hoffman; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
