James Woodrow "Pop" Moody, 94, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.
Mr. Moody was born on August 6, 1915, in Pelham, and lived in Warner Robins since 1942. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. He subsequently worked as an Aircraft Mechanic at Robins Air Force Base until retirement after thirty years of service. He was a charter member of Southside Church of God, now known as The River of Light Church of God. "Pop" was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Moody and Georgia Alice Lowery Moody; brother, LeRoy Moody; sister, Anges Taylor; and grandchild, Angela Moody.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving and devoted wife of seventy-five years, Mary Edmonson Moody; daughters, Joan Sorrow (Reverend Robert), Tifton, Barbara Griffiths (Henry), Warner Robins, and Mary Alice Dominy (James), Bonaire; son, James L. "Butch" Moody (Elaine), Warner Robins; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and caretaker and friend, Thelma Hunt.
Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at River of Light Church of God., Reverends Dewayne Evors, Sanford Hopkins and Mike Slade officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
