During the early hours of Saturday, November 16, 2024, Jane Dekle Cunningham, 96, joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven.
Jane was born on September 7, 1928, in Cordele, Georgia to the late Silas and Minnie Beasley Dekle. She attended Valdosta State Women’s College before embarking on a life of purpose. Jane was a proud military wife and in 1954, she made Warner Robins her lifelong home. Jane was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church, where her faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. Her professional career culminated with her retirement from C&S Bank, after which she devoted herself to her passions and community.
A vibrant and active woman, Jane was a member of the Garden Club and the Newcomers Club. She enjoyed the camaraderie of bridge games and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Warner Robins High School Demons. Her adventurous spirit took her across the globe collecting memories she cherished. Jane’s life was a testament to her faith, family, and love of community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Cunningham, Jr. and siblings, Jeanette D. Adams, Marcus R. Dekle, George E. Dekle, Franklin Reid Dekle, Barbara D. Sowell, Emily D. Whittle and Joan Dekle Riles.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving sons, Gary Cunningham (Lu) of Hoschton, David Cunningham of Bonaire and Jim Cunningham (Donna) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Christopher (April) Cunningham, Brian Cunningham, Sherri Heller (Cody), Samuel Cunningham, Stephen Cunningham (Alicia), Coney Cunningham (Jaye) and Cammie Crews (Josh) and great grandchildren, Daylin Davis (Devon), Christian Davis, Issac Davis, Charlie Crews, and Chloe Cunningham.
Visitation with Jane’s family will be Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating her life will follow in the chapel. After the service, Jane will be laid to rest next to her husband in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
