Janet Louise Morris, aged 73, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born on June 12, 1950, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Janet was the daughter of the late Hector Rudoph La Brie and Hazel Ester Rolland La Brie. She spent her early years in Auburn, Massachusetts, before embarking on a journey that allowed her to experience and appreciate diverse cultures around the world.
Janet's family had the opportunity to live in various countries, including Cyprus, Jordan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and England. Her exposure to different cultures enriched her life and influenced her worldview. In 1968, she graduated from Upper Heyford High School in Upper Heyford, England. While in England, she met the love of her life, Donald. The two married at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama later that same year and began building their family.
While raising her family, Janet pursued higher education and attended Auburn University. She also worked as a debt collector for Sears and Roebuck and First Alabama Bank in Montgomery, Alabama. As the family moved to Massachusetts, Janet found employment with Fannie Farmer in credit collections, later becoming the Credit Manager for Emerson Hospital from 1985 to 1988.
When Donald retired from the Air Force, the family relocated to Melbourne, Florida, where Janet assumed the role of a credit and business office manager at Circles of Care Hospital. In 1996, the family settled in Warner Robins, Georgia, and Janet worked for The Psychological Office, until her well-deserved retirement in 2010.
Beyond her professional achievements, Janet and Donald shared a passion for dancing. Their talent and dedication led them to win several dancing competitions together, creating cherished memories of joy and togetherness. Janet's loving nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she adored her grandchildren and delighted in spoiling them with love and thoughtful gifts.
Janet Louise Morris will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a caring mother, a doting grandmother, and a compassionate friend. Her vibrant spirit, warm heart, and affectionate nature will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Donald Arthur Morris; children, Michelle Shannon Whitson (Stephen Michael) of Forsyth, and Jennifer Leigh Boyer (Jason David) of West Melbourne, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Whitson, Liam Patrick Whitson, and Raina Grace Boyer; and her brother, Paul Ellis La Brie (Marilyn); and her nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request all services are private.
