Janice Countryman

December 27, 1938 — September 18, 2023

Janice Countryman, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and devoted caregiver, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Monday, September 18, 2023. She was 84 years old.

The youngest of five siblings, Janice was the daughter of the late Tommy and Sally Lou Wyatt Sutton. She was born in Dublin, Georgia, on December 27, 1938. Janice's life took a significant turn when she moved to Warner Robins during her senior year of high school, ultimately graduating from Warner Robins High School in 1956. It was in this town that she would marry the love of her life, the late Willie "Bill" Franklin Countryman.

Janice started her career as a children's clothing buyer for Belk Matthews, followed by dedicated service as a secretary for Sutton Christian Supply. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her dedication to her family and loved ones.

After her retirement, Janice devoted many years of her life to the noble role of caregiver, selflessly tending to the needs of Lou Meyer. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her kindness touched the lives around her.

Above all, Janice treasured her family. She tirelessly met the needs of everyone around her, always with a warm smile and a heart full of love. Her acts of kindness spoke volumes, and she never sought recognition for her selfless deeds.

A longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church, Janice's faith was unwavering. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and an enduring legacy of love.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janice was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Countryman; and siblings, Eugene Sutton, Jackie Soles, and Tom Sutton.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Cindy Countryman of Bonaire; grandson, Timothy Countryman of Colorado Springs; brother, Daniel William “Bill” Sutton (Fay) of Warner Robins; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation immediately following, at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where Janice will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Janice Countryman to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 338105.
