Janice Fletcher Purdom, 69, of Byron, Georgia, formerly of Fort Walton Beach and Navarre, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015, in Macon, Georgia after a lengthy illness.
Janice was born on February 22, 1946, in Adel, Georgia. She chose her career as a procurement assistant for the Department of Defense where she worked until her retirement. Janice loved flowers, being a member of the Red Hatters Club, and above all else spending time with her precious family.
Her parents, Carl and Montine Chambers Fletcher; step-father, Clifford Blount; and grandchild, Chance William Maulden, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Michael Purdom of Byron, Georgia; daughter, Wendy Jones of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; sons, Darren Maulden of Crestview, Florida, and Kenneth Michael Purdom, of Calabash, North Carolina; sister, Farinda Jones of Gainesville, Florida; brother, Dwain Fletcher of Quitman, Georgia; and several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Janice Fletcher Purdom to the American Heart Association.
