J.C. Coefield, Sr.

January 24, 1931 — January 27, 2008

J.C. Coefield, Sr., 77, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2008.

Mr. Coefield was born on January 24, 1931 in Heflin, Alabama. He served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Robins Air Force Base as a Program Manager. He was also self-employed as an Electronic Consultant. Mr. Coefield was a member of Northview United Methodist Church and the Centerville Lions Club. His parents, W.J. and Cora Coefield and Sisters Romell Bowen and Gertrude Wynn preceded him in death.

Survivors include his companion, Patricia Hatten, Kathleen; children, J.C. Coefield, Jr. (Gail) and David Coefield, Warner Robins; four sisters, Bonnie Methvin, Birmingham, Alabama; Jeanette Braden, Heflin, Alabama; Judy Cleghorn, Guntersville, Alabama; Katie Flanagan, Griffin, Georgia; two brothers, B.F. and Bill Ed Coefield, Heflin, Alabama and three grandsons.

Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. CST, in Happy Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the donors favorite charity.
