October 11, 1957 — November 21, 2012

Jean Marie Finison León, 55, of Warner Robins went home to her Maker on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 due to a sudden illness.

Jean Marie was the daughter of George W. Finison and Dorothy Jean Johnson. She was born in Utica, New York and grew up in Macon, Georgia. She was an exceptional person who saw good in everyone. Jean Marie was warmhearted, gentle, kind, and good-natured. She succeeded in everything she did be it a loving mom, devoted wife, excellent homemaker, dedicated engineer, affectionate pre-school and elementary school teacher, enthusiastic Girl and Boy Scout leader, and faithful religious education instructor.

She graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Jean Marie went on to work as a fire protection engineer for Kemper Insurance; an electronics engineer at Robins Air Force Base; a school teacher for Christ United Methodist School; and an electrical engineer for the Mercer Engineering Research Center. In her spare time, she was active for many years in numerous roles with the Girl and Boy Scouts of America at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Christ United Methodist Church, and Trinity United Methodist Church. Jean Marie taught religious education at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and loved to read, scrapbook, cook, and create homemade crafts.

Her mother, Dorothy Jean Finison preceded Jean Marie in death. She is survived by her loving father, George W. Finison (Janet), Macon; her beloved husband of thirty-one years, Enrique "Henry" León; her daughter, Margaret E. León; and her sons, Benjamin L., Nicholas E., and Laurence A. León, all of Warner Robins.

A Rosary will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Committal following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that memorial contributions be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 300 S. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
