Jean S. Pruett

November 8, 1932 — March 8, 2017

Jean Pruett, 84, walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Born in Marks, Mississippi on November 8, 1932, Jean was the daughter of the late Berry Stribling and Helen Hood Middleton. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after 36 dedicated years. In her retirement, Jean delighted in being a substitute school teacher for Dodge County schools and a much-loved Media Specialist. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and completing crossword puzzles in her free time. Southside Baptist was her church home. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who deeply loved her family and her church, and served them all faithfully during her lifetime.

In addition to her parents and three siblings, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton Pruett in 2009, and by her former husband, Donald Thompson in 2014.

She leaves her memory behind with her loving children, Donna Tina (John) of Bonaire and Ken Thompson (Rose) of Macon; grandchildren, John and Clinton Mauldin; great-granddaughter, Hannah Mauldin; siblings, Sue Schrimshire of Byron, Linda Bozeman of Centerville, Mark Stribling of Fort Valley, Charles Stribbling of Warner Robins, Gerrie Stribling of Tallahassee, Florida, Johnie Stribling of Sopchoppy, Florida, Mike Middleton of Marshallville, Georgia and Hope Hopkins of Winder, Georgia; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 11th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Nash officiating. Following the service, Jean will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Parkway Memorial Gardens.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Jean S. Pruett to Warner Robins Animal Shelter, 208 Stalnaker Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to your favorite charity.
