Jerrie Bartram Savage, 97, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
Born on January 16, 1914 in Fort Gay, West Virginia to Forest Bartram and Ivia Chapman Bartram, Jerrie has four siblings, Carnas (Mark) Branham, Dorothy (Clarence) Wilson, Archie (Dorothy) Bartram and Mavis (Bud) Castle. Jerrie married Jay Savage and together they had five children, Jack (Kathy) Savage, George (Avanell) Savage, Judy Kay (Bill) Moon, Robert (Micha) Savage and Linda (Brian) Huber.
Her children made her the proud grandmother of 23; her grandchildren made her the proud great grandmother of 40 great-grandchildren. She also has 12 great-great grandchildren.
Jerrie B. Savage, was well known locally for hosting the "Word of God" TV program. Jerrie had a big heart and was affectively known as "Ma Ma Savage" and helped others through her jail and nursing home ministries. She was a poet, author and writer of numerous songs.
Jerrie is preceded in death by her husband, Jay; sisters, Carnas and Dorothy; brother, Archie; and four of her grandchildren.
Family and friends will celebrate her going home on Friday, June 3, 2011 in Fort Gay, West Virginia. Services will be held at Young's Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street, Louisa KY 41230. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Young's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Frasier Cemetery in Fort Gay, West Virginia.
