Jerry Wells, devoted husband, father, son, and brother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was 69 years old.
Jerry was born in Cordele, Georgia on September 1, 1949 and was of the Baptist faith. He retired as an equipment specialist manager from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base where he worked with helicopters and was very intelligent in his line of work. Jerry had a funny wit and a love for music. He often showcased his musical talent while playing the guitar and piano in several bands. Jerry was also an avid outdoorsman who loved trucks, four-wheelers, hunting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter E. Wells; and sister, Carol Y. Hudson.
Jerry’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Karla Wells; daughter, Laurie Carlton; stepson, Robert F. Pennone, Jr.; mother, Mary Lou Wright; brothers, Kurt Wells (Annette) and Timothy Wells (DeDe); and his beloved dog, “Rocky.”
A memorial service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cleghorn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jerry to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Rd., PMB #359, Macon, GA 31210 or to the American Diabetes Association, GA Affiliate, 233 Peachtree Street, Harris Tower - Ste 2225, Atlanta, GA 30303.
