Jerry Ross entered this world on February 7th, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Betty Preston Ross and Jerry Tillery. He graduated from University High School and then joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for 23+ years before retirement in 2007. Though he lived all over the world, Jerry retired and decided to make Warner Robins, GA his home.
Jerry felt it was his purpose in life to make people welcome and loved. To all who knew him, he was a person you could go to for a laugh or good advice, he could always identify what mattered most to others, and he absolutely hated to say "no" to those who turned to him for help. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Roy D Mercer, oldies music, chess, and Fred G. Sanford. A consummate cook, Jerry was always trying to feed those who came through the door to his home, and his door was always open, literally. Jerry was a light, a diplomat, a kind heart, and a good friend.
In addition to his mother, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Ross and his sister, Yvonne Ross.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 23 years, Alicia Marie Underdue Ross; daughter, Janay Ross, and stepchildren, Daryl Payton, Darnell Payton, and Tanisha Payton; siblings, Vincent Ross (Starlene), Henry Ross (Doris), and Robert "Bob" Ross; along with a host of other family members, friends, and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation an hour prior.
