Jerry W. Dillinger, 83, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2004 at Bel-Arbor Nursing Center. Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 12, from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Paul Anderson Youth Home, Inc., P.O. Box 525, Vidalia, Georgia 30475-0525.
Mr. Dillinger was born in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served during WWII and the Korean Conflict, earning the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring from the Air Force and civil service. He worked in Helicopter Tech Services and was one of the original members (Pack Rats) of the 7th LOG. He was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Waldrip Dillinger, parents, Jerry Leroy and Margaret Schurer Dillinger, and grandson, Kevin Barber.
Survivors include his two daughters and their husbands, Gerri and Roger Brooking, Forsyth; and Brenda (B.G.) and Chet Haynes, Warner Robins; seven grandchildren and their spouses: Tracy and Elena Brooking, Kennesaw; George L. and Sharon Cavanaugh, Warner Robins; Lisa Johnson, Warner Robins; Brian and Tamara Brooking, Kennesaw; Walt and Laura Haynes, Warner Robins; Greg and Stacy Brooking, Macon; and Meredith Brooking, Pensacola, FL; 11 great grandchildren: Alex Brooking and Gabrielle Brooking, Macon; Olivia Brooking and Anabelle Brooking, Kennesaw; Michael and Noah Walker, Katlyn and Alyssa Haynes, Sydney Cavanaugh, Taylor Haynes, and Hunter Johnson, all of Warner Robins; and niece, Mary Ryan, and three nephews, Mickey and Bobby Eckman and Jack Ryan, all of New Jersey.
