Jesse Carson Stapleton

Macon – Jesse Carson Stapleton, 77, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.

Mr. Stapleton was born on March 25, 1932, in Irwinton. He was a United States Air Force veteran prior to going to work for thirty years in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as an electronics technician. An avid Nascar and sports enthusiast, he had a love for travel and the outdoors. His wife, Laura Hysell Stapleton, and parents, Willard Myrick Stapleton and Jessie Delanie Lavender, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his fiancé, Annette Ragan, Macon; children, John Stapleton, Clearwater, Florida; Brenda Garrison, Crystal River, Florida; Shirley Joy Stapleton (David) Crouch, Knoxville, Georgia; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Fort Valley Presbyterian Church, 207 Central Avenue, Fort Valley, with Pastor Ted Worley officiating. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service. Burial will be private. Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests donations be made to a Hospice of your choice.
