Jessie "Bobbie" Buffington

Bobbie Buffington, 80, was reunited with her beloved husband, the late Edgar Buffington on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Bobbie was born on September 4, 1936 in Macon, Georgia to the late Jefferson and Jessie Gregory Carter. She was a substitute teacher in Fort Valley and Hawkinsville for many years while also working at Kingsford Assisted Living facility. Bobbie was a loving and devoted homemaker for the majority of her life. She enjoyed tending to the needs of her husband, daughter, son, and household. Bobbie loved to read and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, her son, Edgar Mark Buffington, and sisters, Claire Peacock and Jeffy Harper, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Ann Barnes (Harold) of Union City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Shelley Mitchell (Jamie) of Lizella; Jesse Buffington (Makenna) of Hawkinsville; Risa Ann Johnston of Hawkinsville; Damon Barnes (Elke) of Union City, Tennessee; Jim Barnes (Shannon) of South Fulton, Tennessee; Paige Barnes of Trenton, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Hannah Mitchell, Alexandria Mitchell, Natalie Mitchell, Sara Buffington, Brooks Johnston; and sister, Judy Elerson (Harvey) of Blackshear.

Visitation with Bobbie's family will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 in Andersonville National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jessie "Bobbie" Buffington to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
