Joan M. ''Judy'' Digrazia

Joan M. "Judy" DiGrazia, 67, walked through the gates of Heaven on Friday, September 18, 2015.

Judy was born on December 19, 1947, in Abington, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School in Horsham, Pennsylvania and earned a BSN from Russell Sage College in New York. In 1969, Judy made the decision to use her passion for nursing in the United States Army where she served her country for over four years as a Captain. Following her military career, she continued her education at the Medical University of South Carolina earning a Master's degree in Nursing and eventually retiring as a nurse from Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. A devoted Christian, she called Green Pond Baptist Church in Green Pond, South Carolina her church home. She will always be remembered by everyone who knew her as a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, nurse, and friend. Judy's beloved husband, James F. DiGrazia; son, DeWayne Blackwell; parents, William J. Morrison, Jr. and Joan E. Morrow Morrison; and brother, William E. "Ted" Morrison preceded her in death.

Ms. DiGrazia's memory will forever be treasured by her loving son, Bruce Blackwell (Kimberly) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Ryan Blackwell of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Brody and Holden Blackwell, both of Kathleen; nieces, Julie McKeever and Jeanette Vergis, both of Pennsylvania; and four great-nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at Green Pond Baptist Church in Green Pond, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Joan M. "Judy" DiGrazia to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste. A, Macon, GA 31201 or Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
