Joanie Leigh Patterson

Joanie Leigh Patterson, 57, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 after an extended illness.

Joanie was born on September 2, 1960 in Great Falls, Montana to the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. (Frances) Lee D. Patterson. She moved with her family to several western states before her father was transferred to Robins Air Force Base.

Joanie was a 1978 honor graduate of Warner Robins High School where she was active in the Beta Club and marching band flag corp. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and member of the women’s circle. Joanie enjoyed gardening, volunteering with Relay For Life, and attending football games. She looked forward to competing weekly in trivia, and attending special events with her friends, the Bonzos team. Joanie also loved traveling with her family, mystery trips, spending summers at Jekyll Island and a highlight of returning to her birthplace of Montana to visit Glacier National Park.

Survivors include: her three sisters, Laurie Odom (Terry), Jan Grace (Mac), and Angela Bullock (Dusty); seven nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10th in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Hunt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
