JoAnn W. Cox

JoAnn Wayne Cox, 87, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. 

JoAnn was born on May 11, 1937, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to the late George and Bessie Wayne, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She found true joy in being a homemaker, cherishing every moment spent with her children and family. Known for her quick wit and infectious sense of humor, JoAnn had a special way of bringing laughter and light to those around her. 

A talented needleworker, she spent countless hours creating intricate needlepoints and crocheted pieces, each a reflection of her patience and love. She was also an avid reader, finding comfort and adventure within the pages of her favorite books. JoAnn’s legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. 

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her brother, George Wayne, Jr. and granddaughter, Christy Knowles Lowe. 

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 68 years, Harold Cox; children, Sheila Knowles (Scott) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Jimmy Cox (Pamela LaClair-Cox) of Kathleen, Georgia; grandchildren, Brittney Michelle Thomas (Kelsey) of Fort Valley, Georgia and Hannah Payne of Kaysville, Utah; and great-grandchild, Emersyn Thomas, along with many other loving family members and friends.
