Johanna Antonia Walton

Johanna “Joop” Walton, 79, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

Joop was born on April 8, 1944, in The Netherlands. Nursing was her passion and Joop retired as the nursing director at Coliseum Hospital. Her two dogs, Bingo and Fluffy, were her favorite companions. She had a great friend from her native Netherlands, Mrs. Poole, who she enjoyed sharing coffee with, gym visits, and endless chats, especially after the loss of her husband, Michael. In her free time, she enjoyed working in the yard, arts and crafts, flowers, and stained glass.

In addition to her parents, Joop was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Walton.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Tommy Walton of Perry, Georgia; grandchildren, Doug Walton (Kassidy) of Perry, Georgia and Kaitlyn DaSilva (Jacob) of Perry, Georgia; and great-grandchildren, Ariel Walton, Nyla Walton, and Ivey Walton.
