John Alfred Fisher

October 24, 1928 — May 5, 2011

John Alfred Fisher passed away on Thursday, the 5th of May, 2011 after an extended illness. Mr. Fisher was born in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He served in the United States Air Force for twenty-eight years and retired as Chief Master Sergeant. He served in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Fisher worked as a paralegal for twenty-three years for the Law Firm of Wisse, Kushinka, Calhoun, and Godwin.

Mr. Fisher was a life long member of several military organizations. He was a numismatic and was a member of the Middle Georgia Coin Club. He was an avid swimmer and won several swimming awards as a youth in North Carolina. He was an avid wrestling fan and was selected as Wrestling Fan of the Year by the A.W. F. for the year 1985. Mr. Fisher was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army and in his younger years was very active in the church.

Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife, Casi Rainwater Fisher, and his stepdaughter, Maria Elena Leonard. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Scot Fisher.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Salvation Army at SalvationArmy.org/donation.
